Restoring Community Members to Life After Prison
Life after prison can become hard since parts of society hardly pay attention to convicted individuals. Historically, it has been seen that this social rejection leads to dejection, addiction and other lowly activities. So, specialised care and support are needed to restore these community members to life after prison.
At The Agatha Foundation Ministries Ltd, we work with people who have faced prison and take holistic approaches to restore them to their day-to-day lives. We do so by establishing a centre where they can report. Here, they can meet people willing to connect with them without judgement. They can also meet people who have been in prison before. All in all, the presence of support groups and friendly people helps community members return to their usual lives.
What Can You Expect from the Service?
To help community members get back to their normal life, we include:
- Counselling: Our counsellors communicate with community members and learn about their past and present experiences along with the challenges they are facing in a safe and secure space. They evaluate their needs and difficulties and guide them step by step towards well-being.
- Temporary Short Stay: Many people want to stay alone after they are out of prison. This can indeed help them heal. So, we arrange short-term accommodations based on their needs where they can live comfortably and process their emotions.
- Training in Managing an Income Generating Project: Sustenance after prison can become quite challenging for community members. So, at The Agatha Foundation Ministries Ltd, we provide training so that they can work on income-generating projects. This program is aimed at developing real-world skills required to work in various jobs and support oneself.
- Provide Necessary Resources to Enable Individuals to Live Dignified Lives After Prison: Many individuals find it hard to live dignified lives in their homes after prison. So, we provide them with the necessary resources to boost their self-esteem and live with dignity. We assist them with socialising with others and develop connections that gradually enable community integration and improve their mental well-being.
